Fredrik Ahlgren won the region final in the Research Grand Prix

Fredrik Ahlgren, PhD student at Kalmar Maritime Academy at the Linneaus University, won the region final in the Research Grand Prix 2015, a competition where scientists present their research in the best and most interesting way possible.
The competition took place this past Friday in front of a large crowd and a well renowned jury. Fredrik Ahlgren had four competitors from different research fields, but after the jury had made their conviction he was selected the winner. Fredrik held a speach about his research on how ships electrical consumption could come from waste heat recovery.
- I'm extremely happy to have won this. Shipping is a relatively small research area in Sweden so it's extra fun that it gets this kind of focus, Fredrik Ahlgren says to Lnu.se.
Fredrik will now compete in the national final of the Research Grand Prix which takes place at Nalen in Stockholm on November 26.
