The EU's innovation fund opens two calls with a record high budget

On November 23, 2023, the European Commission will open two calls to accelerate the deployement of innovative technologies in Europe. This means that 4.8 billion euros will be available to industrial and environmental technology players in Europe.
The EU Innovation Fund – one of the world's largest funding programs for demonstrating innovative technologies that contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions – opens this year's calls for proposals on 23 November.
The main call "Fund 2023 Call" will offer 4 billion euros for projects in various sectors, including decarbonisation, clean tech manufacturing, maritime and energy-intensive industries. The application window will be open until the beginning of April 2024 and actors from all EU member states are welcome to apply. The target group in the various calls for proposals is above all companies, both private and public, which receive support with up to 60 percent of the costs in a project.
The Innovation Fund's second call "IF23 Auction" is a hydrogen auction and the first of its kind in Europe. It aims to support renewable hydrogen production. A €800 million budget will be available for bidders (project developers). Bids can be placed until early February 2024.
More information about the calls will follow in two events:
