CANCELLED Breakfast seminar – Recent developments in container shipping and ports

Welcome to a Lighthouse breakfast seminar with Dong-Wook Song, Professor of Maritime Logistics at the World Maritime University, and Viktor Allgurén, Senior Manager Market Intelligence at the Port of Gothenburg. Breakfast will be served 07.30-08.00, followed by presentation and discussion on the theme “Recent developments in container shipping and ports; Implications for the Scandinavian nations”. Last day to register: 6th of November
Professor Dong-Wook Song is one of the world’s most renowned researchers in the field of maritime transport, logistics and supply chain management. He is Professor of Maritime Logistics and the Republic of Korea Chair at World Maritime University. Prior to the current post, he worked at Edinburgh Napier and Heriot-Watt University in the UK, and Hong Kong University. He has worked as a consultant for a number of private and public organisations including the UN, OECD, ADB and World Bank. Viktor Allgurén is Senior Manager of Market Intelligence at the largest port in the Northern Europe, the Port of Gothenburg. He has been working on different positions at the port since 2007, and also previously worked at Maersk. This seminar is a great chance to hear their view on the recent and future developments in container shipping and ports, and Dong-Wook Song will also touch on the subject of understanding port congestion as a governance issue with the perspective on transactions cost. The seminar will be held in English.
