Premiere for Research and Innovation Meet at Donsö Shipping Meet
On September 3, researchers, innovators, and industry pioneers will gather for the first time under one roof at Donsö Shipping Meet to pave the way for a more sustainable and safer maritime sector. The new forum, Research and Innovation Meet, will present insights, experiences, and solutions – from idea to reality.
How do we turn sustainability ambitions into actual roadmaps? How do we transition from fossil fuels to renewables? And how can hydrogen and sails become real driving forces in the future of shipping? These are some of the questions in focus as Research and Innovation Meet makes its debut at DSM – a brand-new seminar where research and industry come together to drive change.
“The transition won’t happen on its own – it requires collaboration, knowledge, and courage. This is our way of joining forces,” says Åsa Burman, Executive Director at Lighthouse, who will moderate the seminar.
From the EU to real-life application in the port
Among the speakers is Jaap Gebraad from the EU’s Waterborne Technology Platform, who will provide current insights into the EU’s R&I programs and funding opportunities for the waterborne sector. Henrik Rådberg from Preem will talk about the journey from fossil-based raw materials to renewable fuels, and Tina Mårlind from the Port of Gothenburg will show how sustainability is being realized in practice – in one of Scandinavia’s largest ports.
The seminar will also feature future outlooks with Claes Möller, CEO of Terntank, and tangible examples from the frontlines of hydrogen technology – with researchers from Uppsala University and Gotland Tech Development.
The seminar is free of charge and open to all DSM attendees. For those not attending in person, streaming will also be available.
